About Us


The father-and-son legal firm of David and Jeff began in the year 2000, when Jeff moved from Kansas City to begin his partnership with his father in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Since then, the partnership has flourished as northwestern Minnesota's personal injury law firm.

Jeff was named as 2005 Minnesota Rising Stars by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine. Then a month later, David was named one of 15 Minnesota Attorney's of the Year for 2004, awarded by the weekly legal publication, Minnesota Laywer. In 2003, Jeff was also named one of Minnesota Lawyer's "Up and Coming Attorneys."  David and Jeff have been selected multiple times as Minnesota SuperLawyers by Minnesota Law and Politics magazine and by Minnesota SuperLawyers magazine.

He is a board member and the 2011-12 chair of the State of Minnesota Board of Public Defense.  A big part of the job includes fighting for funding of the state's public defender system.

Jeff is active in his community. He is a past board president of the Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes, past president, board member, and Kiwanian of the Year of the Kiwanis Club of Detroit Lakes. Jeff was a founding member and 2006-08 co-chair of the City of Detroit Lakes Community Strategies Committee.  Jeff has coached hockey for several years with the Detroit Lakes Youth Hockey Association, received a 2009 3M Minnesota Hockey Coaching Recognition, and was a 2009 Liberty Mutual/USA Hockey Responsible Coaching Award runner-up. Jeff is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Association for Justice (MAJ) and is currently on the MAJ Board of Governors. Jeff is also an active participant in the MSBA.
